JACKSON -- Ora Floyd Bowers, 76, of Jackson, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994, at the Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
He was born Jan. 9, 1917, near Oak Ridge, son of George Washington and Mary Agness Lape Bowers.
He married Louise Suhr. She died in 1946.
Bowers was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Bowers of Gulf Port, Miss.; a daughter, Irene Davis of Millersville; three brothers, George Washington Bowers and Paul Bowers, both of Topeka, Kan., Jack Bowers of Burfordville, Mo.; four sisters, Grace Newell of Oak Ridge, Virginia Mayberry of Twin Lakes, Mich., Helen Mayberry of Jackson, Juanita Blankenship of Bridgeton, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daugther, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev, Delbert Mueller officiating.
Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
