SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Opal C. Yount will be held at 2 p.m. today at Unity Baptist Church in Benton. The Rev. Dale Huff will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Yount, 99, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at Sikeston Health Care.
She was born Dec. 13, 1897, in Salem, daughter of W.E. and Hanie Luella Powell Coppedge. She married A.N. Yount, who died Jan. 16, 1988.
Yount had worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Norman Yount of Wappapello, Harold Yount of Price, Utah; two daughters, Betty Dillender of San Bruno, Calif., Martha Wood of Carondolet, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Vanicek of Cuba, Mo., Oneta Jernigan of Vero Beach, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and three brothers.
