Opal W. Baker, 90, 330 N. Pacific, died Tuesday, May 21, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born July 12, 1900, in Illinois, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Crossan. She married James E. Opal W. Baker, 90, 330 N. Pacific, died Tuesday, May 21, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 12, 1900, in Illinois, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Crossan. She married James E. Baker, who died in April 1977.

The Bakers owned and operated Nine Cent Shoe Repair and Toddler and Tot Children's Shop. The family established Baker Bottling Co. in 1950.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, St. Mark Order of Eastern Star 167, Calvary Shrine 8, and charter member of Order of Amaranth Cape Court 14.

Baker was a past grand royal matron of the Amaranth, past matron of the Eastern Star, and past worthy high priestess of Calvary Shrine.

Survivors include a son, Roy Baker of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Edith Lambson of Price, Utah; two grandchildren, Howard Baker of Decatur, Ill., Kimberly Baker of Cape Girardeau; a great-grandson, Jordan Baker of Decatur; a stepgrandson, Mike Busch of Olathe, Kan., and a great-stepgrand-daughter, Stacy Fugita of Denver, Colo.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Sanderson will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 8 a.m. until time of service.
