Opal Janette Stevens, 82, of Dutchtown passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 11, 1934, in Scott City to the late Clarence and Ercie Lynn Tucker. She married Earl Winfred Stevens on Sept. 30, 1950, and he preceded her in death Sept. 22, 2013.

Opal was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Survivors include five sons, Rodger (Sue) Stevens of Cape Girardeau, Steve (Linda) Stevens of Scott City, Tim (Kim) Stevens of Chaffee, Missouri, Chris (Carol) Stevens of Scott City and Earl Ray (Christi) Stevens of Chaffee; a daughter, Brenda (David) McKee of Dutchtown; three brothers, Sonny (Betty) Tucker of Pevely, Missouri, William (Jeanie) Tucker of Festus, Missouri, and Gary Tucker of Dutchtown; a sister, Olivia Scherer of Cape Girardeau; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Dodd of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Larry Stevens, on March 26, 1985.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. John Harth as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Dutchtown.
