ANNA, Ill. -- Opal Smith, 92, of Anna, died Wednesday, March 13, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Dec. 9, 1903, in Jonesboro, daughter of Otha J. and Stella Turner Lewis. She and Lloyd A. Smith were married Sept. 19, 1923, in Jonesboro. He died May 18, 1992.
Smith was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and taught the adult Sunday School Class more than 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Lanita Cross of Anna, Evelyn Cain of Jonesboro; a son, the Rev. Harold Smith of Columbia, Mo.; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Phil Nelson and Earl Leggans officiating. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
