JACKSON -- Opal M. Roloff, 85, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of Frank and Malone Barks Lewis. After their deaths she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Barks of Jackson. She and Leo Roloff were married May 25, 1930. He died Feb. 1, 1978.
Roloff attended Jackson High School. She and her husband owned and operated the former Roloff Grocery in Jackson many years. She had also been a lab secretary at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of Emanuel United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Roloff of Philipsburg, Mont., Paul Roloff of Lake Zurich, Ill.; a daughter, Madge Burchyett of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Bernice Lewis of Ann Arbor, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a granddaughter, and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Kuehle officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
