EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Opal Jewel Ray of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home. Martin Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
Ray, 86, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Putnam County Care Center in Unionville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1913, in Wyatt, daughter of Lee and Flora Jabber Brewington. She and Hugh Ernest Ray were married Nov. 18, 1933. He died July 8, 1995.
Ray lived in Mississippi County all her life. She was office manager at McMikle Funeral Home and Florist several years.
Survivors include a son, John Ray of Bartlett, Tenn.; two daughters, Ernestine Hubbard of Centerville, Iowa, Barbara McKinley of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
