OPAL R. HENDRIX

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Opal R. Hendrix of Advance will be held at 2 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Dan Sitze and Ray Placher will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.

Hendrix, 82, died Friday, April 23, 1993, at her home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1910, near Zalma, daughter of King and Etta Abernathy Gobble. She and Virgil Hendrix were married Feb. 14, 1928, at Marble Hill. He died Dec. 29, 1991.

Hendrix was retired from the former Inland Shoe Co. here. She was a member of Bethel General Baptist Church, and was church secretary several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Glodena Staats of Zalma; two sisters, Thelma Hendrix and Beatrice Dennison of Chaffee; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
