PORTAGEVILLE -- Funeral service for Opal Moody of Portageville will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Church of God. The Rev. Thomas Walls will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Caruthersville.
DeLisle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Moody, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, at her home.
She was born May 3, 1914, at Steele, daughter of John W. and Jesse Annette Sims Hutson. She and Edd M. Moody Sr. were married Oct. 28, 1928, at Steele. He died Feb. 27, 1986.
Moody was a member of First Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Moody of Memphis, Tenn., Dennis Moody of Portageville; three daughters, Juanita Rone of San Antonio, Texas, Etha Downing of Jacksonville, Fla., Geri Hulshof of Bertrand; four sisters, Edith McCulloch of Caruthersville, Ruby Hewlett of Steele, Lottie Roach of Wentzville, Bernice Wiles of Los Angeles, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two grandchildren.
