SIKESTON, Mo. -- Opal Lee Maack, 89, of Sikeston died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 16, 1912, at Parma, Mo., daughter of William L. and Nannie Jane Barker Smith. She and Thomas Maack were married Aug. 15, 1930, at Bloomfield, Mo. He died Dec. 1, 1980.
Maack was a member of Vanduser Baptist Church and was involved with the foster grandparents program.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Hamlin and Faye Hart of Sikeston; a brother, Lloyd Smith of Rector, Ark.; two sisters, Ruth Evans of Oran, Mo., Louise Wilson of Okeechobee, Fla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
