Opal T. London, 80, of Jackson died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 10, 1927, at Arbor, daughter of Wade and Lora Land Griffith. She and James Hurt were married Jan. 1, 1942. He died in 1973. She and Earl London were married in 1979. He died in 2000.

Survivors include six sons, Frank (Jody) Hurt of Jackson, Kenneth Hurt of Cape Girardeau, Don (Marian) Hurt of Jackson, Garry (Patricia) Hurt of Cape Girardeau, Avery (Judy) Hurt of Cape Girardeau, Keith Hurt of Jackson; two daughters, Gloria (LeRoy) Steger of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Baker of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Terisa (Mike) Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau, Tina (Donnie) Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a brother, Harlan Griffith of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lawanda Henderson of Cape Girardeau, Patricia Carbaugh of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Lee Hurt and Michael Dean Hurt, a sister and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the family of Opal London.
