ORAN, MO. -- Opal Liles, 97, of Oran passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri. She was born March 30, 1917, in London, Arkansas, to Lonnie and Izada Waldo Anthony. She and Charlie Liles were married Jan. 6, 1936, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1994...

ORAN, MO. -- Opal Liles, 97, of Oran passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was born March 30, 1917, in London, Arkansas, to Lonnie and Izada Waldo Anthony. She and Charlie Liles were married Jan. 6, 1936, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1994.

Opal retired as a machine operator at International Hat Factory in Oran. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Jansen of Oran; two brothers, Charles Anthony of Racine, Wisconsin, and Everett Anthony of Marietta, Georgia; two sisters, Mary Blackburn of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Betty Laramie of Oran; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Liles; a brother, Elmer Anthony; two grandsons, Darren Jansen and Eric Liles.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Missouri.
