OPAL L. MARKLAND

BENTON -- Opal L. Markland, 65, Benton Route 1, died Wednesday, June 9, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Lyons County, Ky., daughter of Ora Lee and Lena Scheckels Lyons. She and Leamon E. "Bud" Markland were married Nov. 19, 1948, in St. Louis.

Markland attended Beulahland Fellowship Church at Blodgett.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Terry and Donald Markland of Sikeston; two daughters, Gail Sexton of Sikeston, Veronica Sadler of Morley; a brother, Howard Lyons of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a sister, Ruby Chessor of Caseyville, Ill.; six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by six brothers.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Jim Martin will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
