Opal Hurst
Opal Hurst, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 28, 1917, at White Oak, Mo., daughter of Walter and Ida Sanders McGee. Opal married Henry Hurst on Feb. 3, 1938. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1991.
Opal was a member of the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Hurst of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Barbara Drew of Delta, Laura Hurst of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Brian Drew and Karen McCain of Delta, Pam Gundersen, Matt Hurst and Sarah "Betsy" Torgerson of Yuma; a sister, Irma Lee Pillow of Piggott, Ark.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
