SIKESTON -- Opal Kay Hays, 84, of Sikeston died Wednesday at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Lilbourn, daughter of Henry and Katherine Marcus. She and William Clayton Hays were married Dec. 19, 1953, in Hernando, Miss. He died Oct. 29, 1993.
Hays was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sikeston.
Survivors include three sons, Howard Davis of Drummonds, Tenn., David Hays of Titusville, Fla., Danny Hays of Sikeston; two daughters, Peggy Moran of Mayfield, Ky., Pat Ahart of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren, including Angela Hays Johnson of Ava, whom she helped raise; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Elder Major Clark and Mike Kissell officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
