KELSO -- Opal Genevieve Ressel, 87, of Kelso, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at her home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1905, at Rockview, daughter of Nicholas and Mary Kathryn Mirgeaux Menz. She and Arnold Charles Ressel were married May 8, 1928, at Sikeston. He died Jan. 16, 1986.
Ressel was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include four sons, Edward, Tom, Bob and Ken Ressel of Kelso; five daughters, Mary Ressel of Cape Girardeau, Patsy Enderle of Poplar Bluff, Kathlyn Job, Helen Schott and Janie Raines of Kelso; two brothers, S.F. "Spats" Menz of Scott city, James Menz of Florida; three sisters, Lucille Swan and Marjorie Littleton of Cape Girardeau, Billie Bohannon of Sikeston; 36 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Church. Msgr. John Westhues will officiate, with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus service at 7:30.
