Opal Day Golden, 73, of 131 S. Henderson Ave. died Monday, Dec. 27, 1993 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 21, 1920 in Egypt Mills, the daughter of Henry and Mary Day Commer Fornkohl.

On Sept. 2, 1944, she married Raymond Golden in Benton, Ark. He died in March 1990.

She was a member of the Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Ray and Lewis Gene Golden both of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Judy Ann Reynolds, Ste. Genevieve, Shirley Sue Causey, Bloomsdale, Bonnie Lou Ervin and Lana May Riggs, both of Cape Girardeau; six brothers, Glenn, Lester and Lawrence Fornkohl, all of Cape Girardeau, Norman and Delbert Fornkohl, both of Egypt Mills, and Bobby Fornkohl of Watertown, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy Doris Eagle and Eva Feuerhahn, both of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

Visitation will also be held Thursday from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Richard Tragasz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
