EAST PRAIRIE -- Opal Fay Ballard, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1995, at East Prairie Nursing Center due to an extended illness.

She was born July 13, 1915, at Aurora, daughter of Earnest and Bessie Ritter Ballard. She had lived in East Prairie since 1987 and was of the Protestant faith.

Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Rev. Roy Blumenberg of East Prairie officiating.
