ONIE STRAYHORN

CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Onie Strayhorn of Charleston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sparks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Murry Williams will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m.

Strayhorn, 89, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1993, at Charleston Manor.

She was born Oct. 20, 1903, in Milan, Tenn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Browning Jr. She married Zack Strayhorn, who died Nov. 5, 1982.

Strayhorn was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Strayhorn of Cairo, Ill., Johnnie Strayhorn of Sikeston, James Strayhorn of East Prairie; a daughter, Opal Jordan of Fulton, Ky.; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
