MIDDLETOWN, Mo. -- Omer Bradford, 87, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at the home of his daughter in Freeport, Ill.
Born Sept. 3, 1914, in Charleston, Mo., he was the son of Ollie and Agnes Worland Bradford.
Bradford was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
On April 14, 1945, he married Vivian Howard and they lived in St. Louis County where he operated a service station until retiring to Middletown, Mo., in 1976.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Melinda McElligott of Freeport, Susan Bradford of St. Louis, Helen Sprenke of Moscow, Idaho, Mary Bradford of Washington, D.C.; a son, David Bradford of Potsdam, N.Y.; two sisters Mary Nenninger of Clemson, S.C., Bertram Murphy of Baldwin, Mo.; a brother, Jay Bradford of Jackson, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites were observed in Freeport. Family and friends may attend the regular 9 a.m. Sunday Mass at Immaculate Conception, Oct. 8, in Montgomery City, Mo. Following the service, a tree-planting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on his property on Featherston Lane, outside of Middletown.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burke-Tubbs Funeral Homes in Freeport.
