Oma Woolsey

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Oma Lee Woolsey, 83, of Villa Ridge died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at her home.

She was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Pulaski County, Ill., daughter of Frank and Maude White Sch-ultz. She and Dennis L. "Pat" Woolsey were married Dec. 23, 1945. He died April 24, 1998.

Mrs. Woolsey retired from St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo, and had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Anna, Ill.

She joined Center Methodist Church in 1934, and was the oldest member and member the longest of the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice (Kenneth) Sauerbrunn of Jackson, Mo.; a son, Tom Woolsey of Villa Ridge; four grandchildren, Tina (Richard) Amelunke, Darrin (Gloria) Sauerbrunn, Leslie (Richard) Hendrix, Michael Joseph Pentecost; five great-grandchildren, Terry, Kyle and Brandon Amelunke, Tyler Woolsey, and Jacob Sauerbrunn; a sister, Grace (George) Britt of Olmsted, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Martha Schultz of Alton, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Lewis Price of Olmsted; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Roy Schultz; three sisters, Elsie Price, Mary Basse and Rosetta Dexter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, Ill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jesse McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
