O'FALLON, Mo. -- Ollie Harrell, 85, of O'Fallon died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Delmar Gardens West in O'Fallon.

He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Brownwood, Mo., son of Jesse and Cora Harrell. He and Shirley Harrell were married July 9, 1955, in Fredericktown, Mo.

Harrell worked in accounting at Boeing in St. Louis. He was a member of Men's Brotherhood (General Baptist Association), bingo, enjoyed writing poetry and manuscripts, was a songwriter, church planter and pastor, inventor and played "The Bones."

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Keehn of O'Fallon; a son, Kevin (Jeannie) Harrell of Wentzville, Mo.; two brothers, Ted (Betty) Harrell of Kansas City, Mo., Watis (Jean) Harrell of Chaffee, Mo.; three sisters, Bertie Camren of Advance, Mo., Elvonda Beal of Arab, Mo., Lydia Mitchell of Brownwood, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Aimee Keehn; and a cousin, Joy Williams. He was a loving uncle and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel in St. Charles, Mo. Interment will be in Ottery Community Cemetery in Belleview, Mo.
