PERRYVILLE -- Olive A. Layton DeRoe, 97, formerly of Perryville, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 22, 1900, at Brewer, daughter of Joseph and Minnie Moore Kline. She first married Harry S. Layton Nov. 4, 1919, at Brewer. He died Feb. 18, 1959. She later married Comile J. DeRoe Dec. 9, 1967. He died Sept. 12, 1988...

PERRYVILLE -- Olive A. Layton DeRoe, 97, formerly of Perryville, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 22, 1900, at Brewer, daughter of Joseph and Minnie Moore Kline. She first married Harry S. Layton Nov. 4, 1919, at Brewer. He died Feb. 18, 1959. She later married Comile J. DeRoe Dec. 9, 1967. He died Sept. 12, 1988.

DeRoe was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Jones of Cape Girardeau; a son, Donnon Layton of St. Louis; a brother, Carl Kline of Perryville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30-9:50 a.m. The parish wake and Daughters of Isabella service will be at 7:30 tonight.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
