Ola Nathaline Bates, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Jan. 27, 1927, at Whitewater, Mo., daughter of John Riley and Dessie Langston Bates.

Bates and her sister were self-employed many years buying and selling antiques and collectibles, until she became ill. She was of the Protestant belief.

Survivors include a sister, Lily Marie Kifer of St. Louis; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of Cape Girardeau, Mountain View, Ark., and St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and four sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel Wednesday from 10 a.m. to time of service.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
