JACKSON -- O.J. Seabaugh, 65, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Jackson, the son of Jesse and Lelia Reynolds Seabaugh. He married Helen Hayden June 28, 1952. She survives.
He was a 1951 graduate of Jackson High School and worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and Kasten Brick Yard in Jackson.
While living in Paducah, Ky., for four years, he worked as an insurance agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Co. He also worked in Cape Girardeau at the former Dow Chemical Co. and Cape Central Airways.
He worked for Procter and Gamble in Cape Girardeau from 1970 until his retirement in 1994.
He served as a sergeant in Company E 140 Infantry National Guard in Jackson from 1949 until 1960. Since 1951, he has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, where he also served as an usher for several years.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Seabaugh of Jackson; two daughters, Cathie LaJoi and LaDonna Seabaugh, both of Jackson; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted at First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Revs. Kevin Roberts and Johnny Seabaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
