ANNA, Ill. -- Offa Jane Speck, 83, of Anna died Sunday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born March 11, 1913, in Thebes to Claude and Nettie Copeland Benefield. ANNA, Ill. -- Offa Jane Speck, 83, of Anna died Sunday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born March 11, 1913, in Thebes to Claude and Nettie Copeland Benefield. She married Everett Speck in Anna on Dec. 24, 1933. He survives.

She had worked for the International Shoe Co. in Anna.

She is survived by three brothers, Floyd Benefield of Anna, Junior Benefield of Pekin, and Leo Benefield; a sister, Bertha Haley of Pekin; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hileman & Parr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
