Ocela "Sue" Jauch, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Center in St. Louis of complications from a stroke earlier this year.
She was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Corning, Ark., to the late Amos and Francis Andersen Tucker.
After her graduation from Jackson High School as valedictorian, she was employed by Florsheim Shoe Co. There she met and married Louis "Buster" Jauch, who preceded her in death in August 1996. She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Cape Girardeau, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and numerous other organizations. She retired from the Missouri Division of Employment Security and, most recently, Sam's Club. Throughout her career, she worked in administrations and accounting for Florsheim, Mutual of Omaha Insurance, KFVS-TV, Drury Industries, Teamsters, and in later years as a greeter at Sam's Club in Cape Girardeau. She had a wicked sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends across the U.S., Europe, Canada and Mexico. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis and wife Marjorie of Tampa, Fla., Radley and wife Jo Dean of Oak Ridge and Kelvin and wife Joy of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, Erika Irby, Nick Jauch, Chris Jauch, Cara Raine, Alex Jauch, Paul Jauch, Adrienne Jauch-Sears and Sarah Barrett; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Winferd Wren officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
