Norval "John" Dunn, 76, of Crystal City and formerly of New Wells died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at the Crystal Oaks Nursing Home.
He was born Feb, 21, 1921, at Neely's Landing, the son of Curtis and Ida Ramsey Dunn.
He married Elsie Perr on Feb. 17, 1948. She died June 14, 1997.
He worked at the Maloney Electric Co. in St. Louis for many years, retiring in 1970. He then purchased a filling station in Jackson known as the "Dunn's Station" on Highway 61 North. He operated the station until 1987.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had owned a farm east of New Wells since 1953.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Dunn of Herculaneum; and a brother, Oliver Dunn of Wingo, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may visit at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Nyland officiating.
Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
