Norris Grissom

Norris Ray Grissom, 63, of Benton, Ky., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky. He was the son of Lois and Gollie Grissom. He married the former Patsy Phelps. Norris Ray Grissom, 63, of Benton, Ky., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.

He was the son of Lois and Gollie Grissom. He married the former Patsy Phelps.

Grissom was a former sheriff of Mississippi County, Mo. He was with Missouri State Highway Patrol 15 years, was an insurance salesman and a radio vendor.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Shane Grissom of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Rayla Grissom of Bertrand, Mo., Malissa Fitzgerald of Wyatt, Mo., Kimberly Steele of Fairdealing, Mo.; his mother of Gideon, Mo.; three stepsons, Jimmy Ferguson of Dawson Springs, Ky., George Woodbrey of Benton, Ky., Jon Lambert of Calvert City, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Jeanette Joseph, Starla Woodbrey and Peggy Duncan, all of Benton, Ky.; three brothers, Bobby and Jerry Grissom of Gideon, Larry Grissom of Steele, Mo.; five grandchildren; and 11 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Ky., with Lexie Ray officiating.
