OLMSTED, Ill. -- Funeral for Norman Gus Schwieger of Olmsted will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. Joey Dunning will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.

Schwieger, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 15, 1920, at Olmsted, son of Otto Carl and Louise Dagner Schwieger. He married Mary Edwards.

Schwieger retired from Edger Stephens Construction Co. of Cairo. He was a member of Olmsted United Methodist Church, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Brad Schwieger of Olmsted; three sisters, Louise Golightly and Thelma Bagby of Olmsted, Ruth Wasson of Metropolis; a brother, Loren Schwieger of Olmsted; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, and two brothers.
