Norman F. Schneider, 89, of Bedford, Texas, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Harris HEB Hospital in Bedford.
He was born Oct. 22, 1915, at Dutchtown, son of Edward and Rose Ebert Schneider. He and Jeannette Craddock were married Nov. 14, 1942.
Schneider was a graduate of Chaffee High School, Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Missouri-Rolla. He retired from Phillips Petroleum.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He was a naval aviator, flight instructor, aviation equipment officer and photographic pilot.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Norman Schneider Jr. of Garland, Texas, Karl Schneider of Lockhart, Texas, Glenn Schneider of Denver, Colo., Mark Schneider of Stillwater, Okla.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A private committal service with full military honors was held Monday at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiated.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of local arrangements.
