McCLURE, Ill. -- Norman Rymer, 85, of McClure, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born July 6, 1912, in Union County, son of William and Grace Reams Rymer. He and Alberta Roy were married Jan. 15, 1976. She died Jan. 12, 1991.
Rymer was a retired farmer, and member of Reynoldsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Prater of McClure, Jeanne Burns of Mount Vernon; a son, Bill Rymer of Chester; a stepdaughter, Margaret McCain of McClure; a stepson, Robert Roy of McClure; four sisters, Thelma Abernathie of Cape Girardeau, Hazel Walker and Sybil O'Dette of Anna and Wanda Colyer of Marion; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Argil Landis officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
