Norman R. Kelpe, 87, 1915 Brink, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1906, in Cape Girardeau, son of Frederick A. and Bertha Bode Kelpe. He first married Gertrude Mayhew Dec. 24, 1928, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death. He and Mildred M. Kadane were married Feb. 1, 1947, at Maplewood. She also preceded him in death. He and Corona "Topsy" Grojean Brucker were married Dec. 4, 1987, in Cape Girardeau...

Norman R. Kelpe, 87, 1915 Brink, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born May 11, 1906, in Cape Girardeau, son of Frederick A. and Bertha Bode Kelpe. He first married Gertrude Mayhew Dec. 24, 1928, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death. He and Mildred M. Kadane were married Feb. 1, 1947, at Maplewood. She also preceded him in death. He and Corona "Topsy" Grojean Brucker were married Dec. 4, 1987, in Cape Girardeau.

Kelpe was a machinist and in management 30 years at Carter Carburetor Co. in St. Louis. He retired in 1969. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, and former member of the Dramatic Club.

He was inducted into the St. Louis Bowling Hall of Fame and Missouri State Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Paul Kelpe of St. Charles; a daughter, Ruth Wagner of Wheeling, W. Va.; a sister, Charlotte Sander of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hanover Church. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
