NORMAN H. GRASS SR.

STE. GENEVIEVE -- Norman H. Grass Sr., 84, of Ste. Genevieve, died Sunday, April 17, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 27, 1909, in Ste. Genevieve, son of Frank X. and Johanna A. Schilly Grass. He and Mathilda A. Boetticher were married Dec. 18, 1946, in Bremen, Germany.

Grass was a retired ironworker. He was a member of Church of Ste. Genevieve, and VFW Post here. He was a veteran of World War II, and received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Norman Grass Jr. of Jackson, Frank Grass of Perryville, David Grass of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Katherine Acuna of Panama; Adelaide Schilly of Ste. Genevieve; two brothers, Harry Grass of Ocala, Fla., Oscar Grass of Ste. Genevieve; 10 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Basler Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Ste. Genevieve, with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Valle Spring Cemetery.
