Norman J. Glaus, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1928, in New Hamburg, Mo., to Leo and Ida Gosche Glaus. He and Ruth A. Keller were married Nov. 17, 1948, at New Hamburg.
Glaus was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4311 and St. Vincent's Men's Association.
He worked 25 years at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee, Mo., and was general manager 22 years at R&M Fabrics in Cape Girardeau until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Glaus of Cape Girardeau; a son, Norman L. (Diana) Glaus of Cape Girardeau; a grandchild, Benjamin J. (Mindy) Glaus of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Mara Glaus of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in New Hamburg.
Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation.
