Norman W. Fletcher, 84, of Cape Girardeau died at 10:55 a.m. Nov. 14, 2011, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 10, 1927, to James Clarence and May Jordan Fletcher. He married Gail Emmons in April 1997, and she preceded him in death Nov. 9, 2011.
He was a member of East Cape Baptist Church.
He is survived by one stepson, J.B. (Kim) McClard of Cape Girardeau; four stepdaughters, Colleen Flowers of Misson, Texas; Diane (Howard) Nix of Sherman, Texas; Dessilee (Marty) Mueller of Kelso, Mo.; Brenda Rester of Bon Secur, Ala.; three brothers, Gordon Fletcher of Echo, La., James Fletcher of Brighton, Ill., Joseph Fletcher of Wood River, Ill.; one stepbrother, Gene Taylor of Climax Springs, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Norman was preceded in death by one stepson; one stepdaughter; parents; stepmother, Anna Phyllips Taylor Fletcher; one sister; and two stepbrothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home, 829 N. West End Blvd., Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in Lindsey Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
