NORMAN ENGERT

ALTENBURG -- Norman E. Engert, 65, of Altenburg died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

He was born Dec. 18, 1932, at Altenburg, son of Edwin and Amanda Schilling Engert.

He married Gladys Lorenz on Oct. 22, 1955. She survives of the home.

He was retired from Joint Utilities Altenburg and Frohna and worked as an electrician at East Perry Lumber Co. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282 in Perryville and the East Perry Fair Board.

He is survived by four daughters, Patricia Wichern and Donna Rellergert, both of Perryville, and Sandra Kassel and Vicki Leimbach, both of Jackson; a son, Michael Engert of Altenburg; two sisters, Violet Roth of Altenburg and Alene Best of Uniontown; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8 am. Saturday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Ahlert Strand officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
