ORAN, Mo. -- Norman "Catfish" Eftink, 65, of Oran died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1938, son of Frank John and Velma Ida Dannenmueller Eftink.
Eftink retired as owner and operator of E&F Masonry in Oran. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran, Bricklayers Local 23 in Cape Girardeau, and an honorary member of Oran Jaycees.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Eftink of Jackson, Jeff Eftink of Chaffee; a daughter, Sandy Simmons of Kelso, Mo.; two sisters, Rose Birkner of Ballwin, Mo., Doris Graviett of Oran; and four grandchildren. He was also survived by his dearest friend, June Simmons of Oran, who shared six of her grandchildren with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:15.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
