Norman Harold Cate Jr., 56, of Scott City died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the family home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Topeka, Kan., son of Norman Harold and Ruby Moss Cate Sr. He and Pamela Gloth were married Dec. 22, 1988.

Norman was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; a daughter, Catie (Rick) Gagnon of Alamogordo, N.M.; a stepson, Shawn (Amanda) Hanshew of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Linda (Tom) Sanders of Shepherdstown, Cindy (Steve) Noble of Chantilly, Va.; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Matt Butrum officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Missouri Honors.
