MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Norma J. Glenn, 90, of Mound City died Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Villa Ridge, Ill., the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Dowdy Osborne.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mound City, and, when her health permitted, was a faithful attendee at the Ullin Pentecostal Church. She was employed as a seamstress at the Lowenbaum Factory in Mounds before her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William James, Bobby Osborne, William Osborne Jr. and Eddie Osborne; four sisters, Novella Warden, Janie Steele, Wilma Bradley and Patricia Osborne; and one grandson, Scott Murphy.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by one daughter, Judy Murphy of Mound City; one sister, Dorothy Essex of Ashton, Ill.; one grandson, David Murphy of Nashville, Tenn.; other relatives; and many friends.
Visitation is at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time for services Saturday.
Funeral services for Mrs. Glenn will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls and the Rev. Anthony Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
