CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Norma Lee Evans, daughter of the late James Paul and Eda Irenie Robbins Jones, was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Chaffee and departed this life Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Delmar Gardens Meramec Valley in Fenton, Missouri, at the age of 93.
Norma lived many years in the St. Louis area before retiring to Chaffee. She was a licensed hairdresser and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Chaffee. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign War and S.O.S. Clubs.
On Dec. 8, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ottis Walter Evans Sr. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ottis (Janet) Evans Jr.; siblings, Ann Isbell, Jim (Barb) Jones, Marilyn (Carlton) Hunt and William (Maria) Jones; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Jerry Wayne (Annetta) Evans and Jimmy Dale (Carol) Evans; and siblings, Wanda (Evans) Ryan, Carl Jones, Earl (Marie) Jones, Glenda (Carl) Good, Doris (Jim) Ward and Bobby Jones.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association in remembrance of Norma would be appreciated.
