Norma Leola Corse, 80, of Jackson died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Jackson Manor.

She was born July 14, 1930, in Neely's Landing to John M. and Maude Sides Ackman.

She and Fred Robert Corse were married July 27, 1947, at Oriole. He passed away Sept. 17, 1968.

Norma graduated from Jackson High School and had worked for Jackson Hosiery Mill, Kroger Egg Plant, Rapco and for the Jackson Manor.

She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters Kathy (James H.) Lowes of Jackson and Sarah Paige of Seattle; a brother, Thomas "Bud" (Lucille) Ackman of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Ginger Malone, Joni (Greg) Schemel and Jamie (Rick) Eftink of Jackson and Eric (Maria) Balogh and Justin (Jessica) Balogh of Sacramento, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Malone, Pandora Shave, Jaiden Winterhollar, Kayla Schemel, Dylan Schemel and Emma Balogh; expecting great-granddaughter Alaina Christine Eftink.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society, Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, Southeast Hospice or New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
