CALHOUN CITY, Miss. — Norma Jean Jones Campbell, 89, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Bruce Community Living Center.

Born June 30, 1934, in Jackson, she was the daughter of Lester and Gladys Jones. Norma was a 1952 graduate of Jackson High School and retired after many years with Missouri Barge Line, serving as office manager.  She was a long-time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Later in life, she began attending Pine Grove Baptist Church in Coffeeville, Mississippi, with her family.

On Feb. 27, 1954, she married the love of her life, Edward Allen Campbell, and they spent more than 63 wonderful years together until his passing in 2018.  During those 63 years, there was a total of only four nights spent apart from each other.

Their “golden years” were spent traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada as “RVers”, often traveling with a group of friends in convoys of motorhomes up and down the highways.  In 2004, they moved to Tennessee to be closer to family, mostly their new grandson.

Norma leaves behind her son, Alan Jeffrey “Jeff” Campbell and his wife, Mechelli, of Germantown, Tennessee; grandson, Silas W. Campbell; sister, Judy Black and her husband, Bill, of Hoover, Alabama; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
