OLD APPLETON, Mo. -- Nora D. Ruehling, 89, of Old Appleton died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville, Mo. She was born May 12, 1911, in Old Appleton, daughter of Charles A. and Bertha I. (Hoffman) Bodenschatz. Both parents preceded her in death. On May 28, 1937, she married Leo H. Ruehling. He died Jan 24, 1974...

OLD APPLETON, Mo. -- Nora D. Ruehling, 89, of Old Appleton died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville, Mo.

She was born May 12, 1911, in Old Appleton, daughter of Charles A. and Bertha I. (Hoffman) Bodenschatz. Both parents preceded her in death. On May 28, 1937, she married Leo H. Ruehling. He died Jan 24, 1974.

Ruehling was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Mo. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Jane (Bacon) Ruehling of Perryville; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Engler Ruehling, widow of Larry Ruehling, of Old Appleton; a brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Hilda (Boehm) Bodenschatz of Old Appleton; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose Marie and Rudy Dreyer of Frohna, Mo., four grandchildren, Michael (and Becky) Ruehling of Old Appleton, Kirt Ruehling of Jackson, Mo., Karen Ruehling of Norwalk, Conn., and Daryl (and Chasity) Ruehling of Perryville; two great-grandchildren, Lexi Ruehling of Old Appleton, and Gabriel Ruehling of Perryville; and a stepgreat-grandchild, Chelsea McCormick of Old Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Esther; a brother-in-law, Theophil Roth; a brother, William; a sister-in-law, Ruby Brunke Bodenschatz; and a son, Larry Ruehling.

Mrs. Ruehling will rest in state at Young and Sons Chapel on Monday from 6:30-8:15 a.m. Then she will be taken to Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown for services at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Rev. Paul Winningham officiating.

Memorial donations may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church.
