BURFORDVILLE -- Noah Hopkins, 89, of Burfordville, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at home. He was born May 9, 1910, at Millersville, son of Joel T. and Sarah Ida Barks Hopkins. He married Sarah Beulah Dockins June 29, 1929. She died Nov. 3, 1997. He had farmed all his life in the Burfordville community. ...

BURFORDVILLE -- Noah Hopkins, 89, of Burfordville, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at home.

He was born May 9, 1910, at Millersville, son of Joel T. and Sarah Ida Barks Hopkins. He married Sarah Beulah Dockins June 29, 1929. She died Nov. 3, 1997.

He had farmed all his life in the Burfordville community. He also worked on the construction of state Highway 34 west of Jackson. He was a charter member of the Jackson Trail Riders Association and was a former member of the MFA, Co-op Service and Farm Bureau. He had served on the former Burfordville school board and was a former Democratic Committeeman for Byrd Township. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include three sons, N.D. Hopkins of Grand Prairie, Texas, Ora Lee Hopkins of Jackson and Terry Hopkins of Burfordville; two daughters, Dianna Caramico and Delores Poulos, both of Palatine, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating.

Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
