SIKESTON -- Nina Marie Shields, 79, of Sikeston, died Monday, April 17, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 23, 1915, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of Thomas S. and Alice R. Waters Sturgeon. She and Lloyd L. Shields were married June 22, 1934, at Poplar Bluff. He died Oct. 7, 1986...

SIKESTON -- Nina Marie Shields, 79, of Sikeston, died Monday, April 17, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 23, 1915, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of Thomas S. and Alice R. Waters Sturgeon. She and Lloyd L. Shields were married June 22, 1934, at Poplar Bluff. He died Oct. 7, 1986.

Shields was a certified doll maker, and had been a nurse at Shuffit Nursing Home.

Survivors include a son, William Shields of Fort Morgan, Colo.; three brothers, John Sturgeon of Kingman, Ariz., Charles and Dennis Sturgeon of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Fannie Roach of Venice, Fla.; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cecil Adams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
