ANNA, Ill. -- Nettie Vowels, 94, of Anna died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at the City Care Center in Anna. She was born Nov. 27, 1897, near Simpson, the daughter of Newton and Leona Belcher. On Dec. 31, 1921, she married Clarence Vowels, who preceded her in death March 6, 1974...
ANNA, Ill. -- Nettie Vowels, 94, of Anna died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at the City Care Center in Anna.
She was born Nov. 27, 1897, near Simpson, the daughter of Newton and Leona Belcher. On Dec. 31, 1921, she married Clarence Vowels, who preceded her in death March 6, 1974.
She was a member of the Anna Height Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Hinkle of Anna; a sister, Bertha Ussery of Columbia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
