SIKESTON -- Nettie Bell Cummins, 89, of Bertrand died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.
She was born Oct. 7, 1901, at Cordell, Okla., daughter of John and Ida Mae Kelly Bruner.
She married Elmer Cummins on March 4, 1929, at Cordell. He died in 1970.
She and her husband had been owners and operators of groceries in Morehouse, Sikeston and Delmo Colony areas. She was a member of the First Untied Methodist Church in Bertrand.
Survivors include two sons, J.T. Cummins of Sikeston and Don Cummins of Bertrand; two daughters, Hiwana Hicks of Oak Grove, La., and Vela Ray of Bertrand; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two brothers, three sisters, a grandson and great-grandson.
Service will be held in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Lee Fasler officiating. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery near Clarkton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
