ADVANCE -- Nettie Croy of Oxford, Ohio, formerly of Advance, died Monday, May 24, 1993, in Oxford.
She was born June 26, 1918, at Arab, daughter of Edgar and Ella Stephens Van Matre. She and Evan Croy were married July 11, 1937, in Advance.
Croy was a former member of Advance First Baptist Church, and had taught Sunday School. After moving to Ohio, she helped establish and became a member of a Southern Baptist church in Oxford. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Fred Croy of Camden, Ohio, Donel Croy of Englewood, Ohio, Kenneth Croy of South Carolina, Michael Croy of Hamilton, Ohio, Terry Croy of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Mary Cowen of San Marcos, Calif., Lillie Wills of McGee; nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Showalter-Blackwell-Baker Funeral Chapel in College Corner, Ohio. The Rev. Roger Box will officiate, with burial in College Corner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the cemetery from 6-8 p.m. today.
