STURDIVANT, Mo. — Nettie W. Courter, 82, of Sturdivant, formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 4, 1925, in East Prairie, Mo., daughter of Jess and Dovie Woods Douglas. She first married Joseph Moody Sept. 23, 1948. She then married Ronald Courter, and he died in 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Moody of Zalma, Mo., Ronnie Moody, address unknown; a daughter, Lorene Cavaner of Sturdivant; a brother, Vernon Douglas of Charleston, Mo.; four sisters, Opal Hahn of Charleston, Hettie Rogers of Lilbourn, Mo., Gladys Simmons of Matthews, Mo., Imogene Martin of Truxton, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, a sister, a half-brother and two grandsons.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Liley officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery near Zalma.
